”A joint project between
SUNY Albany Film and Television Documentation Program and Indiana University Digital Library Program, FLI annually indexes the full contents of 150 film and television periodicals from 30 countries, as well as selectively indexes the contents of 200 other periodicals which have articles on film and television. Includes scholarly and popular periodicals. Contains over 700,000 citations to articles, book reviews, and film reviews.”

Searchable information database of over 470,000 film and television titles and 2 million names (including actors, directors, writers, characters, etc.). The information in the IMDB comes from various sources. The bulk of information is submitted by people in the industry and visitors to the site. Includes trivia, news, and video/audio clips.

A recommended multidisciplinary resource to begin your research in all subject areas. Contains full text for more than half the journals covered.

Coverage:

Indexing for over 10,000 publications, with full text for more than 6,100. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research. Use Google Scholar to find articles from a wide variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web.
On-campus users will see additional links to ”Full Text” and ”IDS (ILL)” which will lead to resources available from Milne Library. To have these links available off campus, use ”Scholar Preferences” to set ”SUNY Geneseo” as the ”Library Link.”

JSTOR, a multidisciplinary database, provides the full text of many scholarly journals in the humanities, sciences and social sciences back to their beginning.

Full text beginning as far back as 1665.

ProQuest

A recommended multidisciplinary resource to begin your research in all subject areas. Abstracts and full text for both popular magazines and scholarly journals.

Coverage:

Includes ABI/INFORM Global, American Medical Association, Platinum Periodicals, ProQuest Education Journals, ProQuest Health Management, ProQuest Psychology Journals, ProQuest Social Science Journals, and ProQuest Reference & Research Library.

Scopus

Scopus is an extensive database for scholarly journal articles in the scientific, technical, medical and social sciences fields.

Coverage:

Scopus covers titles continuously from 1996 onwards, including citation data. Some content is available back into the 1960s. Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database. It covers:

  • Life Sciences >3,400 titles
  • Health Sciences > 5,300 titles (including 100% coverage of Medline titles)
  • Physical Sciences > 5,500 titles
  • Social Sciences > 2,850 titles
