Without the courage, determination, and activity of hundreds of thousands of men and women of all ages in cities, towns, and hamlets across the South there would have been no Civil Rights Movement, no famous leaders, no court rulings, no new laws, and no change. The purpose of the web site is to make sure that there is at least one place where the Movement story is told by those who actually lived it.

Google Scholar enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research. Use Google Scholar to find articles from a wide variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web.
On-campus users will see additional links to ”Full Text” and ”IDS (ILL)” which will lead to resources available from Milne Library. To have these links available off campus, use ”Scholar Preferences” to set ”SUNY Geneseo” as the ”Library Link.”

ProQuest

A recommended multidisciplinary resource to begin your research in all subject areas. Abstracts and full text for both popular magazines and scholarly journals.

Scopus

Scopus is an extensive database for scholarly journal articles in the scientific, technical, medical and social sciences fields.

Coverage:

Scopus covers titles continuously from 1996 onwards, including citation data. Some content is available back into the 1960s. Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database. It covers:
